City's future relies on 2010 Census figures, officials emphasize
Eliot Shapleigh spoke about the importance of participating in the 2010 census during a news conference monday at the news headquater. Roads, schools, health care and housing are some of the areas that will get federal and state funding based on 2010 Census count. The Federal Government spent o committes to spend more than $5.7 billion in 2008 in El Paso county. Through the block grant programs El Paso has received about $324 million since 1974 t build paks, community and senior centers.
